We have just become aware that so many people were
UNaware of what is going on
this Saturday. Normally we try and give you more lead time than this but
if
you don't know about this, we need for you to know now.
This Sataurday is the "Support for Our Troops Run" that is
being sponsered by
our good friend DonV at Scootergoods Magazine.
You are all aware of what an overwhelming success our ride for Ashton
was.
Anyone who was there or heard about it after the fact knows that was
largely
due to the tremendous turnout we had and the number of people that
participated.
What you may not realize is that turnout was largely due to a host of
new
friends that we met through DonV, his magazine, and the people who were
already
raising money for Ashton. The weekend before Ashton's run there was a
couple
handfulls of us who went to Lake County and participated in a benefit
they were
having. They repaid us in Spades by bringing their friends over and
supporting
our efforts for Ashton. There were MANY of them that can be credited for
the
success we had that weekend.
Well, this weekend is our turn to return the favor. This run is leaving
from
Holiday Plaza Saturday morning and running back North to The Ramble Inn,
where
we stopped on our run. We need to collectively be out in force to show
our
support for their efforts, just as they did ours.
We will be meeting at the Clubhouse around 8:30 Saturday morning to
leave at
9:00 sharp. We need ALL THE SUPPORT WE CAN GET. Wear your IR-RU shirts
if you
have one. If you can't drive, we will match you up with someone who can.
Just
be there!
More info is online at www.ir-ru.com/poker_runs.htm
or call the Clubhouse, or
email me if you have any questions. The more bikes, the better. The more
people, even more better. Cars, planes, trains, cranes, boats, busses,
hovercrafts and helicopters are all welcome !! (Everything except
Camels)
For those of you who don't usually participate in extra stuff, this is
an ideal
opportunity for you to find out how much fun we can have while helping
someone
else's effort.
