FEBRUARY 2010
I rode up to the Ramble Inn for the monthly "Lingerie" party. It
was a great time with the girls , Little Bit & Ladonn showing off the
lingerie along with other things. (Did I say that?) Everyone had a great
time. You can buy tickets to win lingerie etc. The party lasts as long as
everyone is having a good time. Little Bits Soft & Simple Pleasures
does this show the first Thursday of each month at Thee Ramble Inn,
starting at 7pm. If you are interested in hiring Little Bits Soft &
Simple Pleasures, just give her a call at 352-507-1827. Thee Ramble Inn
always has something going on, so stop in and find out when their next
function is. You can also pick up a copy of Scootergoods Mag. while you
are there. John & Sal along with their great staff will make sure you
have a good time. Don’t forget to tell them that Charlie W. sent ya there. Thee
Ramble Inn is located about 3 miles south of hwy 98 & hwy 19 at
Chassahowitzka. If you are riding north, it’s about 12 miles north from
hwy 50 on the west side of hwy 19. If you can’t find it from there, just
stop and ask somebody. The party was fun, but it was time to go to the
house. When I got to the bike, there was ice on it. I knew I was in for a
cold ride home. With lingerie on my mind, I made the trip home and in a
warm bed. Till next time.......... Ride Safe & Often, Charlie W.
Krazy Kow Kustoms
I was sitting in Mickey’s Bar over on hwy 44 in
Crystal River having a cold one when I started talking to a couple who had
just rode in on a bike he said he had just finished. I asked him all about
it. He said he just finished it and was taking it out on a test ride. Come
to find out, the Brother & Sister I was talking to were Troy Hebert
& Terry Hollifield. They are the owners of Krazy Kow Kustoms, a new
place where you can get a bike built from the ground up or just get your
bike refurbished. They also do cages. We had a nice conversation, and I
asked them if I could take a few pictures of the bike for the magazine.
The bike is a softail that’s freshly refurbished. It really turned out
nice with some extras like goldleaf thrown in. If you are looking for a
place to have something like this done, give Krazy Kow Kustoms a call at
352-503-6190. They will be placing an add in the Scootergoods rag soon, so
make sure you get a copy. As I was riding home, I was thinking of what I
could do to my bike. I did not think about it too long, because first I
had to come up with the scratch. I did have some good ideas. Till next
time....................

January 2010
On Sat. Dec.19th I rode up to Clawdaddys to go on the Shits & Giggles run to
benefit Nathan Bescher. Nathan is Holly’s son ( Holly works as a bartender at
Mickey’s in Crystal River ). Nathan was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular
Dystrophy when he was five years old. He is now in need of a motorized
wheelchair & a laptop for his occupational therapy, as well as other
specialized equipment for his condition. The other stops on the run were Hickory
Island, Willards, Thunder Inn, Sandhill, & Mickey’s. All the bars were
well prepared for the 62 riders on this run. The run was over 100 miles long.
The weather was a little nipply, but it was still a great turnout being so close
to Christmas. When we arrived at Mickey’s you could not hardly find a parking
place. There was at least 300 people there taking part in this event. There were
vendors present, 50/50s, raffles, etc.I have been on a lot of these runs, but
this was one of the best planned & put together runs I have attended.
Everyone who took part in this event did a hell of a good job. Also, thank you
to all of the sponsors who are too many to mention, but you know who you are.
This event would not have been as successfull without you sponsors. The good
news is that Nathan not only received a motorized wheelchair, He got 2 ! How
good is that? 200 T-shirts were also donated with Nathans Benefit on the front
& all the sponsors on the back. They were sold for $5 each. They were
selling fast. Well, Nathan finally showed up & he was so happy I thought he
would never stop smiling. This is what bikers do my friends. Thank you to
EVERYONE who had a part in this event. You made a child & his mother very
happy. To the staff at Mickey’s, thank you for a stand up job. Mickey’s is
located on hwy 44 just about 2 blocks east of hwy 19 in Crystal River. Stop by,
have a cold one & tell em Charlie W. sent ya. It was a peaceful ride home
thinking about Nathan with that never ending smile. Hope you had a great
Christmas Nathan. I think I am going to have a whiskey & eggnog when I get
home. I might have found a little Christmas spirit after all this year. Happy
New Year to you all.

December 2009
On Saturday, Oct. 24th I met Don V. at Mickey’s Bar in Crystal River. We had
planned on going on the Cooter Festival Run, but it didn’t work out that way.
We decided to keep it local, and met up with the Chapdawg on one of our stops
before going to Mike’s Friendly Pub for the Customer Appreciation Day Party.
When we arrrived at Mike’s, the band, Blackwater Jack were setting up while
the outside bar was being prepared to serve up a lot of cold ones. Everyones
name was put in a jar for several $10 bar tab givaways. 50-50 tickets were being
sold. The winner later that evening won $70 plus for having the majic ticket.
Jamie, a friend of mine was celebrating her birthday with her sister &
several friends. Chapdawg started playing horseshoes when we first arrived with
me being the first victim.
He played horseshoes during the whole party
and never lost a game. ( I think it reminded him of camping in Starke). When the
food was ready, it was a real feast. This was all home cooking & not any of
that store bought stuff. Brian did a hell of a good job on the chicken. He said
it was his famous "Sticky Chicken". All I know was that it was some
damn good yard bird. It stuck toyour ribs, and everywhere else you made contact.
Great cooking Brian. Blackwater Jack played untill 8 pm. The dance floor stayed
busy the whole time. Zoey did a good job at the outside bar, with Mary doing the
same on the inside bar. Mike’s is located right across the street from Sunny
Days Plaza, on the west side of hwy 19 about one mile south of Homosassa. Stop
by, have a cold one, check out their comming events, and tell them Charlie W.
sent ya. It was time for me to find my recliner with my belly full of sticky
chicken. Till next time ................. Ride Safe & Often,Charlie W.

Hitching at the Ramble Inn
On Sunday Sept. 13th I rode down to the Ramble
Inn to see Smitty & Paula get hitched. When I arrived, the place was buzzing
with people doing all kinds of prep work for the hitching that was soon to come.
Chris & Sandy were busy behind the bar serving drinks to all the spectators,
while Smitty was busy setting up the champaigne glasses. There was quite a crowd
on hand for the hitching that was soon to be. Smitty & Paula had their first
date at the Ramble Inn, so this was a fitting place for them to tie the knot.
The bride to be & the groom were not a bit nervous. Well, maybe Smitty was a
little nervous. The time finally came for the Notary to say all the things you
promise to do & not do. (Maybe she didn’t say what you are not supposed to
do, but we all know what we are not supposed to do, don’t we?) The wedding
went off without a hitch at all. Nobody dropped a ring, nobody said they had a
reason why these two people should not get married, etc.. It was great ! When
the talking was done, we all threw bird seed at the fine couple. We used to
throw rice, but they said it was hurting the birds because it swelled up in
their bellies. I think the birds should not eat so much rice and we should
continue the tradition of rice throwing instead of bird seed. (That’s just my
opinion) We drank champaign and ate cake, and had a few more drinks while
congratuating the brand new married couple. They really looked happy, and I hope
they stay that way. Smitty & Paula went to Tennessee on his bike for the
honeymoon. I bet that girl was a little sore after the ride, and well, you know.
I waited on Chris to get off work, and then headed for my recliner once again.
On the way home, I was hoping that I get to see the couple way on down the road
and that they are still as happy as they were on this day. I always say,
"It’s only what you make it".Good luck to you Smitty & Paula.
Till the next

Chapdawg October 09 CHAPDAWG GOES TO STARKE
On Oct. 3rd I met some of my friends for a
ride up to Starke Fl. ( My favorite camping area) for the chili cookoff &
poker run at the Red Dog Saloon. The weather was great. When we got to
Gainsville, they were having some kind of Gay, lesbian, Transvestite rally. We
did not stay in Gainsville very long at all. We went right on down 24 headed to
Starke a little bit faster than we should have. When we arrived at the Red Dog
Saloon, I gave my brother Charlie W. a call and let him know we made it safe and
sound. ( His bike was in the shop) We had a couple drinks, let the people
running the chili cookoff know we were there, and checked out the vendors. Ms.
Shirley owns the Red Dog Saloon and was glad to see us along with Rude Roy the
BBQ Boy & Jim Mitzel who were in charge of this event. There was quite a
nice crowd even when the poker run left. Benje & a few of the others that
rode up with me went on the poker run. If you have never had a chance to ride in
this area, you are missing out. The riding is great up there. The chili judging
was at 1:15 pm, and some of it was HOT, & I mean hot. After the judging, we
rode over to Knuckle Draggers to see how things were going with them. They are
in the middle of moving to a new building that will belong to them. They are
also going to throw a big Grand Opening Party in November, so keep your eyes
open for the time this is going to take place. You don’t want to miss that
shindig at all. This is how my luck goes. I was just getting ready to take some
photos of the chili cookoff winners when someone bumped into me and I dropped my
camera. Well, as you can guess, the camera was broke & therefore, no more
photos. About 3:30 we said our thanks and by by’s and headed south towards
Willards & the weekend party they were having. When we arrived at Williards,
the place was packed, music was playing, food was being served, and drinks were
nice and cold. We checked out the vendors, had a cold one or two, and headed on
towards the house. I was thinking about Charlie W. while I was riding home. I
just wanted him to know that the food was good, the beer was cold, the women
were hot, and the weather gods were very good this weekend, I also wanted to
tell him, "sorry about your luck bro". I’ll tell him when I see him.
If you are up to it, come ride with me to Starke when they have the Knuckle
Draggers Grand Opening Party. Untill the next event.............

2009 Daytona
On Friday the 14th of August, Benje & I
rode over to Wild Bill’s house to meet him & ride over to Daytona Beach
for an off season look at Daytona. When we left, the sky was very dark & the
air was a little cool. It was great for riding. We headed to Daytona via the
back-roads.
The traffic was very slim that day as we rode thru Howie & The Hills. We
made our first stop at a little bar right on the St. Johns River. The place was
nice with a big bar & several tables because they served food also.
We had a couple cold one’s, then headed for Daytona again.
When we hit Daytona, we stopped at the Wing
House to have lunch. The girls were great along with the service. The dark sky
had caught up with us once again, so we headed to the Hilton, where we would be
staying for the weekend. Well, we outran the rain with plenty of time to spare.
We pulled into the Hilton, and before we could even turn our bikes off, a vallet
parker told us we could not park our bikes where we were. We told him we had a
reservation, but he did not care. He escorted us to the parking garage right
away .(Now, this is a place that is supposed to be use to biker’s, right?)
After we parked our bikes & gathered our gear, we headed to the lobby to
check in. You should have seen some of the looks we got from the people who not
only worked there, but were staying there also. Wild Bill checked us in, so
Benje & I headed for the beach bar downstairs. I ordered a beer for Benje,
and a vodka & OJ for myself. The bill was $8.50. (We only had one) After
throwing our belongings in the room, we headed for Main St. to check it out. A
lot of the places were closed, but a few were open.( this was about 3pm) Dirty
Harry’s was a lot of fun, then we hit Boot Hill Saloon.
They had some T-shirts from the last bike week
on sale for $5 each. I bought about 4, and the other guys bought some too. They
had a band that was real good & we listened to them for a couple drinks. We
left Boot Hill, and walked on over to Froggy’s. We had a lot of fun at Froggy’s.
Wild Bill met a guy who he said looked just like my brother Chapdawg. I told him
he had no resemblense to Chapdawg, but he insisted that he was the spitting
image.(You can decide that for yourself from the photo). After having a few to
many, we stumbled back to the Hilton to raise some hell. The next morning, we
headed over to Destination Daytona.
I had not been there since it was completed,
The place is huge, with stores for everything you need to do with a motorcycle,
food, and a few bars. We left there, and went on south to the Iron Horse. We had
a great time at the Iron Horse. Wild Bill met a brother who had been a few
places on the way to Sturgis that he had been, so they talked for a few hours.
Benje beat my ass on the pool table inside, and made sure that he told everyone
when he got back. When we left the Iron Horse, we stopped at a little bar a few
miles down the road called the Kick Start bar. We had a great time in there. We
then headed for a nice dinner on Wild Bill at Charlie Horses on US 1. The food
was great. After stuffing our faces, we were ready for the motel. When
we arrived at the Hilton, Bill said, " Let’s go to the sports bar",
so we did. Bill threw a $20 bill on the bar and ordered us a beer. He got back
$2 & some change. Bill said, " If I don’t spend it, my wife will when
I get back, so what the hell". We had a couple more rounds & called it
a night. On the way back the next morning, we made it to hwy 491 where Wild Bill
headed to his house, and Benje & I headed to the Ramble Inn. We really had a
great time in Daytona. You can do everything you do during bike week without the
great big crowd. It only takes about 3 hours to go the back roads too. There are
plenty of places to stop on the way if you don’t want to ride straight
through. The ride was nice, and we all had a great time in Daytona. After a
little while at the Ramble Inn, I headed to the house & my recliner. It felt
good to kick back in the recliner. I guess I finally took a nap thinking about
all the fun we had in Daytona. The next thing I knew, my dog was in my lap
licking me in the face. The only thing that would have made the trip any
better, was if the Chapdawg could have come with us. Til
later........................

October 2009
On the 29th of August, the Ramble Inn hosted
Scootergoods Magazine 5th Anniversary party. If you were there, you know that it
was kick-ass. If you missed it, you really missed one hell of a party. When
Chapdawg & I arrived the parking lot was almost full. The Big Ragoo was
MCing & giving out door prize tickets, the dunk tank was just getting ready
to start, and the people that were there, were already having a great time. The
vendors were all set up also.Tony, the cook at the Ramble Inn, was cooking
outside, but the kitchen was open inside too. The food was great! At 2pm Kathy
Jo and the Bluzificztion Band kicked off with some killer blues music. The
parking lot was full, so we had to move the cones for the bike games for more
room to park. I mean, the parking lot, the grass, the sandy area, the back of
the Ramble Inn was all full of motorcycles. Some people even parked right on the
side of hwy 19. I have never seen this many bikes at the Ramble Inn. The auction
got under way, and money was raised for the Crystal River Middle School
Atheletic Program, & money was also raised for the Wildlife Center that
takes care of tigers. I had a great time taking pictures & talking with
everyone. We had only a couple of girls for the bikini contest, but they both
won as far a I was concerned. All of the Ramble Inn Staff deserves a great big
THANK YOU, for doing such a great job of taking care of all of these people. I
would like to thank everyone who came out to celebrate Scootergoods 5th
Anniversary. I have had a great 5 years writing for this rag, and I am looking
forward to another 5 years. I also want to thank Sal & John for there
hospitality. You guy’s rock ! Thank you Don V. for coming out with this great
big little book too. You folks keep on reading & telling everyone about this
rag. I was waiting on Chris to get off work, so we could have a couple cold one’s,
and then have a nice ride home to my recliner. Well, that didn’t happen till
about 8 pm. It was a lot of fun, I got to celebrate my friend Teresa’s
birthday, and the anniversary of Scootergoods too. Everyone I talked to had a
great time, and can’t wait for the concert in the pasture on Oct.31. Don’t
miss that ! Well, it was one hell of a day, & a lot of fun, but I really
needed to find that recliner, so we finally made it out the door. Man, did that
recliner feel good. Till next time......... Ride Safe & Often, Charlie W.

At the 5 Year Anniversary Party
Sept. 2009 On Sat. August 1st the Chapdawg & I rode over
to Mike’s Friendly Pub for the "Summer Bash" party to benefit the
families at Christmas time with food. This is the start of the food drive for
Christmas. They get an early start on this so they can feed as many families as
possible. When we arrived, they were setting up the dunk tank and getting things
ready for the event. We grabbed a cold one while saying hello to everyone. It
was hot as hell outside with at least an 80% humidity hanging all over us. This
was also the time for the election of unofficial, official "Mayor" of
Homosassa. These candidates were running around trying to get everyone to vote
for them. Out at the outside bar, you could pick out a floating duck and try to
win a free beer, 25 cents off a beer, or a kiss from the bartender. The Chapdawg
& I decided to sign up for the horseshoe tournament once again. We are
undefeated so far in this tournament for the past two years. (WOW) Things
started going on with the dunk tank right away. Several people got in the tank
to be dunked. It was so hot that I wanted to get in it myself. The horseshoe
event got under way with me and the Chapdawg once again, taking first place,
with Ted & Chuck coming in a very close second. After the horseshoes, they
had a beer drinking contest. The first person to drink a whole pitcher of beer
first, won. It was a hard race, but James came out with the first place win.
When the ballots were counted, Bird Man was and still is the Unofficial,
Official Mayor of Homosassa. Bob Becker won the honor of being "Boss Hoss"
This event is always a lot of fun. I would like for everyone to watch the
schedule for the events at Mike’s Friendly Pub that lead up to Christmas for
needy families. Please attend these events if you can. It is for a great cause.
Just to see the looks on the childrens faces at Christmas time is well worth the
effort. Mike’s is located on the west side of hwy 19 just south of Homosassa
next to Sunny Days Plaza. Stop by when you can and tell them Charlie &
Chapdawg sent ya. With a $20 bar tab in our pockets for winning at horseshoes,
me and the Chapdawg headed on down the road. I was headed to my recliner, and
who knows where the Chapdawg was going. Till next
time.......................................Ride

Saturday,
I met Chapdawg at his house about 10 am to ride to Starke for
the 2009 Bikefest. We had a good ride untill we reached Williston,
then the sky opened up and that wet stuff was everywhere. We
made it to Gainsville OK and took a little break to dump the
water out of our boots, wring our socks out, and have a smoke.
We slipped our rain gear back on and headed for the big town
of Waldo. You HAVE GOT TO DO THE SPEED LIMIT IN WALDO, or else
YOU WILL GET A TICKET. We usually stop in Waldo and have a
cold one, but we decided to go ahead and ride to the Red
Dog Saloon since the rain was slowing way down. When we
arrived at the Red Dog, everyone was getting ready for the
event. We dried ourselves off the best we could & put on
some dry socks while having a cold one.
We set up our
tent behind the Red Dog, and I sprayed it with some scotch
gaurd. That stuff works good because it didn't rain again
untill 11 am the next day. We decided to ride into town &
check out the event site. The event site was at the end of
Call St. in downtown Starke. The place was a muddy mess with
hay on top of all the mud.
There was harldy anyone there yet,
but we had a hard time finding a place to park. (cages were
all over the area taking up space). Chapdawg pointed out a
sign to me that said " Bike parking, $20 for all
day".(they will never get $20 out of me) We took a little
stroll around to see who & what was where. There were
about 30 vendors, some set up on the street, & some set up
in the mud. Not much at all was going on at that time. Later
on Friday night, there was somewhat of a crowd there listening
to the bands, etc. There was only one band that we had ever
heard of, Local Traffic. The other bands included
these...............
Kings Of Awsome, Youth
In Asia, & Outside Over. They were pretty good
bands even though we had never heard of them. After all the
fun we had downtown, we headed over to a favorite bar of
Capdawgs called Main St. Station. Chapdawg wanted to see if
there was anyone who wanted to go camping. (wait till he reads
this) This bar had changed hands since we were there last
year, but we had a great time there. Everyone was having fun
& we joined right in having fun with them. Next, we rode a
couple blocks north to a bar called Mates. This is right on
301, downtown Starke.
The owner is from Australia & rides
a 2002 road king he has ridden all over Australia. The
bartender remembered us from last year while serving us up a
cold one. We also ran into some of the folks we met in there
last year. After a lot of talk, some picture taking of a very
respectable model, we headed to KFC for a cheap dinner. After
dinner, we went back to the Red Dog where we decided to stay
for the rest of the evening. Saturday
morning found us heading to McDonalds for another cheap
meal. (times are hard). After a breakfast sandwich & one
of the hottest cups of coffee I had ever been introduced to we
headed over to Knuckle Draggers, a bike shop, tattoo shop,
with a bar inside. Yes, that's right, they had a bar inside.
(FULL LIQUOR BAR). We said hello to Bill & all the others
that keep the place rolling along, then we had that breakfast
desert, a vodka & OJ. The folks that were going on the
poker run were also there having a drink & making their
plans for the run.
There
was about 25-30 bikes on the run. I had my camera going the
whole time we were there. It was about time for some music,
and the band called "Wild Fire" started setting up.
They had played the night before at the Red Dog Saloon also.
Well I guess you can figure out what happened as soon as they
got set up? That's right, the damn rain started again.(at
least we had a dry night) Any way, the band played between the
rain drops,
and before we knew it, the food was ready to serve. If you
have never eaten at Knuckle Draggers during one of their
events, you don't know what king of food you are missing. It's
all home cooking...........I'm talking about the grandma's
stand over the stove kind of cooking where it's done from the
heart. You could set a plate of that food on anyone's head,
and their tongue would beat their brains out trying to get to
it. With a full belly, we made the rounds again between the
rain drops. Downtown was really a mess, but there was a good
little crowd there. I did run into my friends Don, Jim &
his wife along with a couple of their friends who had rode up
in the rain that morning. They had a great time. I saw Don
when I got back and he said it did not rain that bad on the
way home. Well, we made it to Saturday night late where we
found ourselves back at the Red Dog. (It was very close to
home, just a few steps out back) The band Wild Fire, was
playing again, so we listened for a while while talking to Ms.
Shirley the owner of the Red Dog, Debbie who we have known
ever since we have been going to the bike fest up there, Amber
& Wanda the bartenders who kept everyone from being
thirsty, and of course all our friends that we see when we are
there. It was time for me to hit the air mattress so I could
dream of sunny skies that I hoped would be there when I woke
up. Starke Bikefest was not what I had expected, but maybe the
weather had a lot to do with it this time. If everyone will
give them their input on what they should do, maybe next year
will be a hit. (I still will not pay to park my bike). You can
still have a great time in Starke without having to stay on
Call St. I just told you how! Try and make plans next year to
attend this event. You can ride with me & Chapdawg, we
know all the good places. There are some other places I did
not mention because of space, Let me put it this way, If you
go to Starke with us, I guarantee you a good time. Ride up
there anytime and check it out for yourself. Tell everyone
that Charlie W. & Chapdawg sent ya. Sunday morning was
just like the dream I had. It was nice & sunny with no
clouds in the sky. We packed up, stopped for fuel, &
headed back home. When Chapdawg waved goodbye and turned off
towards his house, about 4 miles down the road, I RAN INTO
SOME MORE RAIN. I was not far from home though and it was only
light rain. If you go to Starke, don't forget to tell them
where you read about them, RIGHT HERE ! Till next time, from
me & Chapdawg................................

The Old School Rodeo 2009
Chapdawg, Chris, and I arrived at
the Rodeo grounds about 11 am on Friday. It was already hot as hell. Chapdawg
drove his van with a bed in the back and trailered his bike down there. I just
pitched a tent and we went down to the event area to check things out. It was
early, so there was not much going on yet. My friends that I was camping with
decided to give Tattoodio a little business and 3 of them got their nipples
pierced. This was the first time I had seen this done. Craven did a good job on
each of them. I photographed each one of them having their nipples pierced. All
of them were true tough guys. (you won't get me to do that ever) Friday night
was a little slow, but everyone that was there had a great time. Chris & I
had one of Chooche's Philly Cheese Steak Sandwiches. Those are very tasty. We
also had biscuits & gravy for breakfast there. I didn't have any trouble
sleeping Friday night because I had to take Chris back home so she could get up
and go to work the next morning. Saturday was a scortcher. That was not a
problem for the girls, they just didn't wear as many clothes. The bike
games were great. Everyone involved in these events did a hell of a good
job. It was real hot, but everyone hung in there and did what it took. This year
we had a topless dunk tank to raise money. This was a great idea thought up by
Jaybird. From the time they opened it up till the time it closed, it stayed
busy. The girls who opted to be in the dunk tank did great, and stayed cool. The
bike show was also a great success thanks to Chicken
Man & everyone who helped him out. The person that built the trophies
did one hell of a good job. I am sorry that I can't remember his name, but he
built some nice trophies for the winners in the bike show. All the bands were
great & we appreciate them donating their time for this cause. There was
plenty of food, a liquor tent, beer tents, ice for sale, so you didn't need to
go anywhere once you got there. The adult games were a lot of fun too. I think
some of the Love The Bananna contestants may not eat banannas for a while. The
event area was not where all the fun was had. The camping area was wild as hell
this year. There were poles on trailers, blow up dolls everywhere, and music on
every row.All I know is that I had a great time this year. I would like to thank
everyone who helped with this event for doing a great job and helping our
veterans out. I don't know if there was nore people there this year than last
year because they had not found out by the time this story was written. I think
we might have had a few more than last year. If for some ungodly reason you
missed this Rodeo, make sure you don't miss the next one. Once you go to one of
them, you will not miss another one. Once again thank's to Don V. Jimmy B. &
Chicken Man for doing this event to help our veterans. Also thank you to anyone
who had a helping hand in this event. Sunday morning was kind of quiet at 7 am
for some reason. Chapdawg & I packed up & headed to the Ramble Inn for a
cold bloody mary.Till next time from me & Chapdawg...................Ride

June 2009 Ramble Inn Poker Run for CASA
On Sat. May 2nd, Chapdawg & I rode up to the Ramble
Inn to meet Don V. to go on the poker run that would benefit C.A.S.A. When we
arrived, we ran into our friend Mark and asked him if he would like to ride
along with us. He said yes, and we were on our way to Jim's Club located on the
east side of hwy 19 just a couple blocks north of down town Homosassa.
We said hello to a few folks we knew and talked to the owner, Terry about having
a swimming bash there this summer. After finishing our drinks, we stopped at the
Honda dealership on hwy 19 and watched some of the crotch rocket riders do some
tricks. It was already hot, so we did not stay too long. The guys (and girl)
doing the tricks were really good. Next we stopped by Crystal River H.D. There
were bands playing, vendors everywhere, lot's of people, and cold beer. The
place was really crowded for a change. We had a couple of drinks, did a little
shopping, said hello to people we knew, and headed over to Mickey's, a new bar
in Crystal River right on hwy 44 beside Tire Kingdom. When we arrived, the place
was really busy. We said hello to one of the owners and grabbed us a cold one.
Chapdawg was in a playful mood.
He found himself a childs pink BIG WHEEL
and took it for a ride. He just ain't right sometimes. Our next stop was at the
Sandhill Saloon located in the shopping plaza on hwy 44 where it meets Homosassa
Trail. This was only our second stop on the run, but we had plenty of time to
play. After having a beverage, talking trash, and having a bowl of popcorn, we
headed to our third stop which was the Shed in Old Homosassa. The Shed is
located right on the river with plenty of shade, cold beer, and usually a nice
breeze. If you can't find the Shed, just ask anyone in Old Homosassa and they
will give you directions. You really can't get lost there. Not wanting to leave
the nice breeze, we loaded up and headed to Mike's Friendly Pub for our fourth
stop. Mike doesn't own it any more, and I never could figure out why the word
"Friendly" was used either. Anyway, they are located right across the
street from Sunny Daze Plaza about a mile south of Homosassa on the west side of
hwy 19. Everyone was having a great time when we arrived, so we just joined them
and had a good time right with them.
After a couple drinks and putting up with
Bird Man, it was time to head to the Ramble Inn for the card draw, food, music,
& more drinks. The Ramble Inn was packed when we got there. I drew my cards
and couldn't even get the worse hand. They had the 50/50 drawing that paid
out over $70. The wet T contest turned out to be a no-T contest. Now, I am not
complaining at all about that.
There were only 4 contestants and it got down to
a tie between 2 girls. They had a dance off, and I couldn't remember who won the
damn thing. It was not because I was not paying attention, because I took about
20 photo's. I still don't know what color their eyes were. After the no-T
contest, my recliner was calling me real loud so I said goodby to Don V &
Chapdawg, loaded up on the bike & headed to Old Homosassa. You know what? I
wasn't suppossed to know what color their eyes were because It was not an eye
contest. Till later from me & the Chapdawg...........

June 2009
On Sunday, May 3rd, Chapdawg,
Chris & I rode up to Rock
Crusher Canyon to the concert featuring the Outlaws, 38
Special, & Big Engine. When we arrived, there were about 200
motorcycles in the parking area. That is the first time I have ever seen that
many bike there. The Outlaws
were playing when we arrived. They really put on a good show. 38 Special also
rocked the canyon. We saw a lot of our friends from all over. The only thing I
didn't care for was the price of beer at $4 a can. They also need to get some
other products to sell like Hard Lemonaid, Smirnoff flavors, etc. The reason I
say this is because I am not a beer drinker any more. I only drink beer when
there is no other choice. ( yes, I am whining a little) We sat with my
girlfriend Chris's co workers, Sandy & Cindy along with Heather & her
daughter. The beer tent was close to us along with a lot of the vendors. Strip
Club Choppers was there selling shirts, etc. with their logo on all of it. The
Outlaws finished with "Ghost
Riders In The Sky" which is my favorite song they play. We didn't
stay to hear all of the bands, because of work the next day and me being a little
tired from the day before. I guess I needed to go back to work to get some rest.
Going to all of these events, taking pictures of people, & drinking will
sure tire you out. It's a tought job, but someone has got to do it. Any way, we
made it home without getting pulled over by the "Wolf Pack". I was
pulled over the day before by them. They said that my handlebars were a half
inch too high. The cop didn't measure my shoulders or the handlebars, he just
eyeballed it and said they were a half inch too high. I guess they were out to
make a statement that weekend. So, with music in our heads, and drinks in our
bellies, we headed to the house. It was a great weekend after all. Till next
time from me & the Chapdawg..................... Ride

APRIL 2009
The Sticker Party On Sunday, Chapdawg & I rode up to the Ramble Inn
around high noon to check out the Sticker Party. The place was already getting
packed when we arrived. The way the sticker party worked was, you brought in any
kind of sticker, bumper, mirror, refrigerator, window, wall, etc, you get the picture. You
trade your sticker for a nice cold draft beer. That’s not a bad deal if you
ask me. So, we took our stickers out to Sandy & traded them in for a cold
one. The band, Blackwater Jack, was shooting out some great jams, & they had
just started when we got there. These guys are great John was busy in the
kitchen taking good care of the folks that were hungry. He dad a hell of a good
job, & kept the food rolling out of the kitchen faster than I really
expected. Sal was busy keeping Sandy’s beer cooler full. That’s right, he
was working & I actually saw him do that. He was moving so fast that I
couldn’t even get a picture. Chris was making sure everyone at the inside bar
had a nice cold beverage & didn’t go hungry. Everyone was really having a
great time. The later it got in the day, the more people showed up .In a few
hours, the place was packed to the gills. It just goes to show that if you throw
a party, people will come to it. Sandy had a beer flat full of stickers by the
end of the day. If you don’t know where the Ramble Inn is located, it’s on
the west side of hwy 19 just 3 miles south of hwy 98 & 9 miles north of hwy
50. Stop in when you are in the area and say hello to the staff. Sal, John,
Sandy, Chris, Cindy, Joe & all the others that work there will make you feel
right at home. Make sure you find out when the next event will be. Live music
will be there on the weekends & you have got to try the food. Well, it was
getting just about recliner time, so me & the Chapdawg headed north. Hope
you had a perfect birthday Sandy & hope you have plenty more too. Till next
time..

March 2009 Mike's Pub Triathalon On Valentines day, Chapdawg & I met some friends at
Two Deuces and headed over to Mike’s Friendly Pub for another one of those fun
triathalons. This time would be very different for me because 3 weeks earlier I
lost a bet to Bird Man. The bet was on a pool game. If I lost, which
I did, I had to wear a bikini during the event. I am just glad that it was not
cold that day. When I came out of the bathroom dressed in my nice bikini, all
kinds of flashes went off from people with cameras. I am usually the one taking
the pictures. The triathlon evolves 3 games of bowling on the bowling machine, 3
games of pool, & 2 games of horseshoes. (that’s why I am glad it was not
cold) The games started with Me & the Chapdawg bowling against some friends
of ours we had competition with at the last triathalon. We lucked out & won
all 3 games of bowling. After a short break and more camera flashes, we went to
the pool table where we played against Bird Man & my friend Lynn. I was
ready for this. I told Bird Man that I would make it fast & painless for
them. Well, that’s just what happened. (how did ya like that Bird Man?) After
another short break and everyone giving me hell about the bikini, we went
outside & played our 2 games of horseshoes. The bikini must have been my
lucky charm that day because we won both of our games. It took me a few minutes
and Chapdawg screaming to figure out that we did not lose a single game in all
the events. I don’t know if it was the bikini or not, but if It was, I won’t
have that kind of luck any more if I can help it. As soon as the screaming from
Chapdawg ended, I headed to the bathroom and put my real clothes back on. ( I
sure felt a lot better dressed that way even though some of the girls gave me
some compliments on some of my body parts) We collected our money & thanked
everyone who had made this event a success, sat down & had one more cold one
before heading over to the Thunder Inn for the Leather & Lace Party. (No, I
did not enter that) If you have not gave this triathalon a try, you don’t know
what you are missing. It is a lot of fun! Just ask anyone who has participated
in one of them. Mike’s Friendly Pub is located on the west side of Hwy19 in
Homosassa, right across the street from Sunny Days Plaza. Stop in and have a
cold one, meet some great people, and enjoy yourself. You will be made welcome
by all the great staff at Mike’s. Well, we were done with our drinks, & it
was time for me to see someone else dressed with not so many clothes on.
MARCH 2009 Chapdawgs FIRST STORY
Weedend Warrior Or Real Biker? Here you are, riding down a country road, see a
chick broke down ( her bike ) on the side of this long country road all by
herself. Hello ! I mean by herself with no one around to help. Many, and I mean
many bikes ride by and wave, blow the horn, and ride on. What the hell is up
with that shit? Two people out of who knows how many, did respond. Only one of
these Bros stopped to see what was going on and if he could help. He stopped
because he saw someone broke down, or possibly broke down. He was a real biker
who took a little time to see if there was something wrong or if she was just
taking a break. His name is Dario. Now this was pretty cool because Dario is a
friend of ours. ( even though he rides a Honda like my wife does) Maybe it was a
honda thing, but I doubt it. Dario stopped without knowing who it was at the
time. Well, they got together to see if they could find out what was wrong with
the bike. While they were doing this, another "Real Biker" slowed down
enough to ask if they needed any help. They responded with "thank’s, we
will figure it out bro."It turned out to be a dead battery that had caused
the problem for my wife. The person that lived in the house where my wife was at
, said you can keep it right here untill you can get things together and move
it. He said my place is fenced and secure and you won’t have to worry about
your bike. (real nice guy) They exchanged phone numbers and my wife rode to meet
me at Mac’s Place, just down the road a few miles. When she arrived at Mac’s
Place, I told Dario that his girlfriend had sure lost a lot of weight. That was
before I had noticed that it was not Darios girlfriend, but my wife on the back
of that V-6 honda. After the laughter ended, and many thanks were given to
Dario, we continued the run we were on. Many thanks were given to Dario for
retrieving Honda Property. Dario hauled ass the other way towards his own house.
I have a very hard & sharp bitch seat on my fatboy, so my wife for some
reason chose to ride with my bro Charlie W. When we got to the next stop, I went
to talk to my wife and Charlie said, quote, "leave my bitch alone! Sheila,
my wife, then said, quote, " you got a problem with that? It is a wonder
what a ride on a Harley can do to a woman. The next day, we went over to where
the honda was and retrieved it. The man who ownes the property was very nice and
took good care of my wifes bike. The moral of all this stuff is if you see
someone on the side of the road, at least slow down and ask them if they are
allright or need some help You can’t help them by waving and blowing your
horn. You just don’t know unless you ask. Once again, thanks to the "Real
Biker Dario that stopped and helped my wife. That still might be a honda thing,
I just don’t know about that. Even if it is, it is a good thing. Thank’s
Dario. Apes Rule,Chapdawg
March 2009 Leather & Lace
Also On Valentines day, after a very exciting and tiring triathlon at Mike’s
Pub, Chapdawg & I arrived at the Thunder Inn for the 3rd Leather & Lace
Party for Operation Yellow Bow. The place was packed, but we squeezed our bikes
in a couple spots and headed for a cold one. I was running into all kinds of
people I had not seen for quite a while. I went right on inside where the tattoo
contest was going on. There were some great tats shown. There were so many
people, I couldn’t even tell you who the winner was. Imagine that, bikers with
tattoo’s! The contest girls had been busy raising money all day, and it was
time for the winner to be picked. Like I said before, there were so many people
there that I couldn’t tell you who won or came in second or third. All I know
is that they were raising money for our troops and that was the most important
thing. Tattudio artists were outside doing some great tats along with a food
vendor who was making sure people were not going hungry. Darla was outside also
selling cold beer. As always, Steve & Mark had everything rolling along real
smooth.
The staff was also in top form and you didn’t
have to wait for a drink. I was not able to find out how much $$ was raised for
the troops, but I am sure it will help no matter how much it was. Make a note on
your calendar for next year so you don’t miss this great Party. If you don’t
know where Thunder Inn is, I am going to tell you right now. It’s on hwy 41
between Hernando & Holder on the west side of the road. Yes, you can get
there from your house. Thunder Inn has a calendar with all the events going on
during the month. Stop in and pick one up, have a cold beverage, and now you can
get as many clams & oysters as you can eat too. Mark & Steve will make
you very welcome and make sure you have a good time. Well, the sun was going
down, I was itching from the bikini thong going up my ass for 5 hours, and I was
just plain tired. I said my goodbyes, and headed for my recliner. Oh shit, I
still had to get Chris some candy for Valentines day. That would not take long
at Wal Mart.
Away I went & until next time Ride Safe & Often, Charlie W.

February 2009 Benefit for Cin
On Saturday Jan. 10th, the Chapdawg & I met a few of our
friends( yup, we do have friends ) at the Ramble Inn for the start of the New
Year Resolution Run that would benefit Cinthia B. who is fighting breast cancer.
She had to have surgery do to chemotherapy complications. We all hung around
till about 11:30 am & then headed to the Castaways Bar north of Crystal River.
The Castaways has made some very nice improvements to their establishment, including the
new restrooms & the outdoor addition where you can party come rain or shine.
We left the Castaways & headed for Mac’s Place way out on Hwy 41, south of
Floral City. Dale, the owner was there to greet us. Mac’s Place is always a
good stop because it is in the middle of nowhere. You are always thirsty when
you are in the middle of nowhere. Our next stop was the Woodshed which has
always been a favorite of mine. I have been going there for over 30 years. We
met some real cowboys while we were there. We had some good conversation about
guns, hunting, and cooking fresh mullet. I did not know cowboys knew a damn thing about
mullet. We said our goodbyes, and headed towards the Dam Pub ready for some food
to top off a real good day of riding. When we arrived, everything was going
fine. The raffles were done, the poker run winners were announced, the auction
was finished, and money was raised for Cinthia. (Resolution from 72) But,
therewas not the smell of food anywhere at all. Now, the run wasgreat, the
people were great, andit was a good feeling to raisesome money for Cinthia, but
nothaving NO FOOD AT THE END OF THE RUN SUCKED BIG TIME. Who ever
was supposed
to have the food ready let over a 100 people down big time. If you say you are
going to be there and do something, you need to do what you say. I mean, that
makes sense to me.Over 100 bikers were expecting to eat at the end of this run,
and it didn’t happen. OK, enough of that. The run was a success even though we
were hungry as hell. Everyone had a great time and thanks to Tim & everyone
that helped to make this event happen. It was a great day, and we rode over a
100 miles. I call that a pretty good day. Chapdawg & the friends I was
riding with grabed me and said we were going to Sonny’s BBQ for dinner, so
away we went. When we got finished with dinner, I thought we were going to get
told not to come back in there because of the way my friends acted. It was nice,
but some people don’t have a sense of humor at all. Anyway, I was ready for my
recliner by then and only gave the misbehaving a little thought. We had a great
day riding, helped a good person out, and created some memories. Till next
time....................... Ride Safe & Often, Charlie W.
January 2009 Tommy Sizemore Run On Saturday Dec. 13th it was cold as a well diggers ass.
Chapdawg & I pulled into Crystal River HD about 11 am and signed up
for the Tommy (Outback) Sizemore run. There was about 40 or more people riding
to show their support for Tommy. Tommy has been fighting A.L.S. ( Lou Gehrig’s
Disease) for several years.
All Tommy wants to do is see his son graduate from high School. Tommy and his
family are having a rough time with the medical expenses and the special
equipment he must have. This family would be first to help someone else in need
and do what they could for them. We left Crystal River HD and headed to MT
Pockets in Dunnellon. It was still a little chilly out and everyone was glad to
have a warm place to have a drink. Some of the raffle ticket numbers were called
and after a few cold ones, we headed to the Thunder Inn. At the Thunder Inn,
Steve & Mark had some nice spicy Chili ready for us to munch on. That really
hit the spot Steve. I was told that Steve made the Chili.
With some hot chilli in our guts, we rode a few
miles down the road to the Old Bait Shop.. The Old Bait Shop is on the east side
of the road, in Hernando, where Hwy 41 & 200 split. I guess you could say it
was actually on 200.The folks there were very nice and treated us great.(they
always do) When we finished our drinks, and I took a nice group photo, we headed
to the Ramble Inn where everything to do with prizes, drawings, food, etc. would
take place. They were giving prizes away at all the stops, but the final prizes
would take place at the Ramble Inn. so I made a bee-line for the food. It really
good. BBQ chicken with all the fixins brought in by Ramble Inn Staff and the
folks that helped out with the run. These people that helped with this run, did
a hell of a good job. The band, "Inside Out" was really good and
played a lot of old classic rock. Everything went like clockwork and turned out
real well. Once again a big" thank you" goes out to everyone who took
part in this run. All the bars and people involved were able to raise about
$1500 for this family in need. Well, you know what happens when it is getting
late and you have a full belly? Yep, that’s right, it’s time to find the
recliner again. I headed down the road with good thoughts and pleased that I was
part of something that would help someone hopefully see their dream come true.
Thank you to everyone that made this possible $1512.00 was raised. Till next
time... Ride Safe & Often, Charlie W.
December 2008 On Saturday, Nov. 8th I climbed on my bike and headed north
on hwy 19 to Starke Fl. for a memorial run in Doug Youngs honor. I hit the barge
canal bridge, and the temperature droped about 15 degrees, so I had to stop and
darn my leather coat. (that’s a new word I learned called "darn" you
can use it in several ways) It’s a darn good word. OK back to the story. When
I arrived at the Red Dog Saloon, the run was already at stop #2, so I met them
at the Howling Wolf. I saw a lot of people I have met before at the Starke Bike
Fest.I also met some new people. The Brothers & Sisters on the run let me
know that everyone of the stops were great and they were having a good time. We
headed on back over to the Red Dog Saloon a different way than I had gone
before. It was a nice ride. Just about anywhere you ride in that area is nice.
When we got back to the Red Dog, the food was ready and the girls were selling
50-50 tickets. Red Dog was hanging out looking for a food hand-out. I’m sure
he didn’t go hungry. Bill & Danny did a hell of a good job cooking. Lot’s
of people brought a covered dish also. That home cooking just can’t be beat.
Luana’s daughter baked a nice cake with the HD label in the middle.(nice job
girl} I had a meal with Victor and his son and daughter-in-law. After I ate, I
talked to Bobby Sue about the run and about Doug York. Doug was a Viet Nam Vet,
who was married to Ms Shirley for quite a while.Doug was a retired roofer from
Indiana. He has two sons, Michael & RIchard along with two daughters,
Veronica & Mellisa. This was the 1st Memorial Run and all the proceeds went
back to the people on the poker run. Doug died on Nov. 10th,2007.
He was a very well liked man with a lot of friends. Ms
Shirley, the owner of the Red Dog and everyone that helped on the run did a hell
of a good job. All the other bars were great too. Don’t forget the people who
brought the covered dishes, they were good too.(I like that home cooking) If you
don’t know where the Red Dog Saloon is, it’s just south of Starke on 301.
When you are up that way, stop in and tell them Charlie W. sent ya there. They
have a full liguor bar and great servi ce. You have got to meet Red Dog too.
Keep looking in Scootergoods Magazine for all the upcoming events in Starke.
Well, it was getting dark and colder, so I headed on my way home to the
recliner. I froze my ass off on the way home. ( there ain’t much ass there
anyway, but now there’s less) Till next time.................... Ride Safe
& Often, Charlie W.

Ironpony Traveler Memorial
Saturday morning, I rode over to the Thunder Inn on hwy 41 to
meet up with some of the friends of a fallen brother who we all knew as
"Iron Pony Traveler".I met Silent Bill, a friend of mine who was also
very good friends of Mark (Iron Pony Traveler) Silent Bill has a problem with
his speach due to a stroke. Silent Bill said that Mark would always listen to
him very patiently and try to figure out what he was saying. If you don’t know
Silent Bill, it can be very hard to understand him with his speach problem. Mark
always had patience and understanding for SB and always took the time to
understand what he was trying to get across. These two guys were very good
friends and I know that SB is going to miss him along with everyone else that
knew Mark. Marks wife Chris, had his vest and some pictures of mark spread out
on the pool table for everyone to see. I don’t know exactly how many people
showed up, but it was crowded at the Thunder Inn. We all had a few drinks, and
told stories about Mark. Wild Willie was our bartender, and did a good job
keeping a drink in our hands. Steve and Chrissy had a nice spread of food for us
also. Mark liked hanging out at Thunder Inn. After a couple of hours, we headed
over to the VFW in Beverly Hills for the Memorial Service for Mark (Iron Pony
Traveler) Some of the family members that were there said a few things about
Mark that I never knew. (they were all good) Mark was a Viet Nam Vet. Mark has a
great family and it was good to meet them and let them know that he was my
friend.
This was last year. We had a hell of a good
time with Mark. Mark was always a lot of fun and a good friend. I know that I
will personally miss him and so will all his friends. After the ceremony, we had
a drink or two and everyone headed their own way. I had one more drink and
thought about my Brother who was not here with us any more. I had to get back to
my recliner and catch up on some rest, so I headed to the house. I knew that
when I rode home, Mark was riding right there with me. We will all miss you IRON
PONY TRAVELER. Till next time.................................. Ride Safe &
Often, Charlie W.
The Starke Bike Fest seems to change each year
for some reason. This year they had a bar inside the fair grounds building. That
was cool, but you had to pay $5 for a mixed drink. The drink was real small
& the amount of liquor in the drink was smaller. They need to delete that
scene.OK now that we are past the negative stuff let’s get to the good &
fun things. Jimmy Van Zant was pretty good with some of his original songs.
Blackfoot was as always, rockin the place.I was having a tatoo done by Tattoodio
when they came on stage. Great music to get a tat by. By the way, Tattoodio does
great work with good prices. Kevin did my work for me and I am very happy with
it.
Only, try not to get a tat on the inside of
your arm up by your pit. It ain’t fun at all. We hung out at the Red Dog
Saloon on Saturday morning & met a lot of people coming in to town ready for
a drink. The Red Dog has been there for quite a while.Ms Shirley runs a good
place to have a good cold beverage. If you stop it say hello to Red Dog. He is
all healed up from being attacked by 3 other dogs .I quess dogs gang up on dogs
just like people do. Anyway, the dogs that jumped on him included a Jack Russell
that tried to bite his penis off. "That’s got to hurt, even if your a
dog."We also found a couple more places to visit while we were there.
One was right down town called the Madison St.
Bar.This is a locals bar. Chapdawg found out the hard way that you don’t want
to ask anyone that hangs out there if "they want to go camping". The
next place is about 15 miles east down hwy 100. This place is called the Howling
Wolf. The only thing that was howling when we ware there was chapdawg. We did
meet some brothers there who liked Chapdawgs pipes.(the ones on his bike, No
they did not want to go camping) All the events at the Bike Fest were pretty
much the same except for the Rat’s Hole being there. They held a couple bike
shows. One more thing I have got to tell you about is when you go to breakfast
in Starke, only order 1 order of ham for the whole table. Every place in that
town gives you a killer piece of ham. No, I don’t know why. Anyway, we got wet
on the way back for about 5 miles, and the rest of the way was dry. The only
reason it was dry, was because we saw the rain and pulled into a bar. That’s a
good way to stay dry. Starke is a fun time any way you look at it. If you have
not been there yet, go to the next event. I have been to all of them so far. I
hope to continue going too. If you want to ride with me and the Chapdawg, just
let me or him know. I can’t leave out DonV, he rode with us too. Don’t
forget about the ham & let’s go to the next Starke Bike Fest.

Operation Yellow Bow at Castaways
June 7th Operation Yellow Bow did it again at the
Castaways on hwy19 just north of Crystal River. This was a big event & I
only made it up there for one day. Things were going real good when I arrived
with Chapdawg. The wet T-shirt contest was just over and the band was going
strong.By the way, they really had some good bands for the whole weekend. They
were giving away stuff left & right too.The vendors were all set up and
doing pretty good selling their wares.I know it was not a full moon that
weekend, but it should have been. People were just having too much fun. This
event was for our troops, just like all of the OYB events. Char has done an above
average job putting these events together. So have all the people that are
involved helping her. Please try and attend these events if you can. It is for a
great cause. The Castaways has remodled & the place looks great. You don’t
have to step up when you go in the mens room any more.I still stepped up for
some reason. Turtle,Pirate & The Big Ragoo did the Emceeing and a lot of the
Scootergoods staff were present for the event.I was unable to get all the
results from the event, but will let you all know next time or when I find out
what they were. Well, it was getting late, so me & the Chapdawg headed
south. Chapdawg in search of his house and me looking for my recliner again.
Till next time.. Ride Safe& Often, Charlie W.
Mike’s Pub Triathlon 2008
On a nice Saturday morning,I met my bro Chapdawg at Mikes
Friendly Pub for the 2nd triathalon. Now Chapdawg had been training real
hard for this event ever since the last one that was held a couple months
earlier. Oh, we came in first place in that one. I mean we won every event with
flying colors. Now this is no regular triathalon. You are not swimming, riding
bikes, and running. The contest consists of playing 2 games of horseshoes, bowling
2 games,& playing 3 games of billards 1st event was horseshoes where we won
the 1st game & lost the second one.I will have to admit, Chapdawg made most
of the points. Next we went bowling.Have you ever seen So,our 1st event was
horseshoes where we where we won the 1st game & lost the second one.I will
have to admit,Chapdawg made most of the points. Next we went bowling.Have you
ever seen a bunch of bikers bowling? That is quite a site to see.Anyway, we got
our butts kicked in that event big time. The last event was our best. We shot
pool like the champions that we were suppossed to be. The only thing was that
sible now. Chapdawg only made 4 balls out of all 3 games. So much for the
training in that area.Anyway, nobody beat our record for a perfect score that
day. There were 2 ties for first & second place. We ended up in 4th place
after the roll of the dice that was the tie breaker. To sum it all up, this is a
lot of fun. If you did not make it to this triathalon, please don’t miss the
next one. They will be having another one very soon, so don’t miss
out.Chapdawg felt so bad about coming in 4th that he emediatly went into hard
training for the next one. Stop by Mike’s Friendly Pub as soon as you can and
check out the upcoming events. They always have something going on there. Well,
I know I need to find my recliner as soon as possible now. Ride Safe & Often

You know, April is a nice month to ride
to Georgia, so 17 friends of mine and yours truly headed that way on
friday morning. The weather was great with a nice spring morning. We
headed up hwy 19 to hwy 121 that took us through Williston to Gainsville
& I 75.From there it was all 75 till we reached our exit about 122
miles into Georgia. There is really not much around Unidela Georgia where
Angel City is located. There is one motel & a couple truck stops, with
a place to eat & shower. Angel City is about 1 mile away from 75.
These folks have about 400 acres where they built a little town that looks
like an old western town on TV. You know, like gunsmoke, & all the old
western shows. The town is complete with old tin roofs, wooden sidewalks,
hitching posts. & 4 saloons with swinging doors. You can bring your
cage or your camper, but you can’t ride anything around the city but a
motorcycle. The events start on thursday, and end on sunday. Ticket prices
are $45 for all 4 days, plus $5 a night to camp. (that’s primitive
camping) The beer is only $2 . The hard stuff is $5 a drink no matter what
kind of hard stuff it is. From rot-gut to top shelf, it’s still $5 a
drink, so drink the good stuff if you are going to drink the hard stuff.
The bands start at about noon till early in the morning .They have some
really good bands for you to listen to also. I almost forgot to mention
that you can have a camp fire if you want one. They have a big pile of
wood to use, but you will need a chain saw to cut it up into smaller sizes
for the fire. Vendors are all located in the stores in Angel City, &
set up on the grass too. The prices are about the same as anywhere else.
The event shirts are only $13. They have plenty of places to eat, and a
general store where you can buy some supplies if you forgot something. The
folks Chris & I rode up there with had been there before, so they knew
what was going on most of the time. This is a laid back place where you
can have all the fun you want, or you can relax all you want. I did a
little of both. This is an adult event. You can bring anything you want to
drink or eat. All they ask is that you don’t bring anything in glass.
They do mean this too. If they catch you with glass, they will ask you to
leave. If you have some booze in a glass container, just pour it in a
plastic bottle and take that with you.Bring your beer in a can. (I know
beer in a can sucks any more) There is plenty of security at Angel City to
take care of any problems. You might not see them, but believe me, they
are there & watching. The main thing is to have a good time, listen to
the bands, relax, shop, etc. They have 3 events each year. They have 3 events
each year. The next one is in October. I will be going up there for that
one for sure. If you want to check it out on the computer, just go to
angelcityrally.com. That will give you all the information you need as far
as dates for the event, vendor set up fees, prices for tickets, &
usually the bands that will be there. I have been to a lot of biker
events, but this is one of the best that I have had the pleasure to
attend. I did miss Chapdawg though. He could not go to this one.
Everything went great on the trip up, but when we were leaving the
campgrounds, one of our brothers laid his bagger down in some of that good
ole Georgia clay. He was ok except for a little pride issue. He did take
some of that clay home with him though. Oh, the bike was fine too. If you
want to make that trip with me this fall, email me at harley2455@hotmail.com
and let me know you want to ride with us. Well, its time to hit the old
recliner. Till next time................Ride Safe & Often,Charlie W.
