June 2009
Well Leesburg Bike Fest has come and gone. What a huge event! They say the numbers may have out done Daytona Bike Week. I worked all from Thursday to Sunday for the Roadcrew. So not much riding, but Sunday afternoon I got out and rode a bit, first was over the the Blue Heron. Tim and the girls said they had a good turn out with a bunch of over the weekend camping, then it was off to Kool Kats this place was hopping. They had a drawing for a 76 Shovelhead which Spike from the Military Vets won.. They also had vendors and live music. They said Friday night they had over 300 people there. County Line Bar also had a huge crowd with drink specials and live music. Then it was off to Kickstand for the Benefit for Daniel McWilliams they raised $2,000.00 for him. They had a good turn out as well. With Jenny Rimmer shooting out the tunes, this girls knows how to sing. Dale from Steves Package and Lounge said they also had a good turn out with fellow bikers in and out all weekend, and Gator Bay also said the numbers were up. So all in all it looks like Leesburg Bike Fest was good for all the local bars. Sunday May 3rd 9 of us Leesburgers headed over to Rock Crusher Canyon to listen to the tunes of the Outlaws 38 Special. Thanks for the tickets Don V. This place was packed with spectators and a lot of police.. Overall it was a very good concert. Thirsty Thursday is now at Steves Package and Lounge, Dale said he would have drink specials for all of us bikers. So stop in for a cold one, also Wednesday is Gator Harley Bike Night with vendors, drinks, food, live bands, and bike games! Keep the rubberside down Ridgerunner

MAY 2009

On April 4th the Blue Herron had a child abuse awareness benefit for the Haven.  The Kick Butt entertainment put this event on.  They raised close to $1200.00.  The Cove supplied free meat ball subs with all the fixings, Myself  ran the adult games.  Sand the woody, pole in the hole, and the baby bottle suck.  This was a nice turn out, Thanks to all who helped and all who participated in the Games..

Next  April 11th the County Line Bar was the last  stop For Brothers of the 3rd wheel poker run.  They had trike games, food and entertainment  by the Band Shakey Pudding, they told me that there was 12 trikes signed up and  a number of motorcycle, some of those trikes are really awesome with H-D Motors,

Some with  VW motors and some with a V-8 Motor.  The difference between trikes and bikes to me its a lot easier to keep  2 wheels cleaner than 3 wheels,  It was a good turn out and the crowd was having a good time. And the Bar Maids working there butts off as usual,  Also I stopped by Gator Bay In the morning and Kevin has his T-Shirts in so stop by and get your self a burger shirt and some cold beverages.

Ridgerunner Hits Bike Week
Well Bike Week 2009 has come and gone, the numbers where down but the law still made their share of money. I ended up going over 3 different times . The 1st Sat. their was 13 bikes and my son and son-in-law fowled us in the cage while my daughter rode with me. We hit the White Eagle in Korona, that place knows what bikers like. From wet tees to great music, food, vendors and bike games. Then we hit the Ormond strip I could not believe we rode right up and parked. After hanging for a few hours we headed back to the Blue Heron Cove in Weirsdale for some more fun fun. Then on Thursday morning we met a couple of brothers from Iowa Tim & Pat camping at the Blue Heron and they rode over to Willies Old School Bike Show where we met up with DonV and Chickenman. DonV finally met Lenny and Palm Coast Pam. They get Scootergoods out over in their area. Thanks Lenny and Pam. Sucker Punch Sally old school had their booth set up and my son in-law wanted me to get him a Sucker Punch hat so I told Donnie owner he just returned from Afghanistan so he gave me some stuff for him. Then we hit Ed Waldons bar this place is cool it is the oldest bar in Volusia county 61 years old . I met Ed`s son Barry we sat and talked a while he told me he met Bill Couch and Lenny some 30 years ago when they came down for bike week and camped out back. We are going to do some stories from a blast from the past from Ed Waldens bar. This place is located on Beach St. , Mainline side. The last Sat we headed back to the White Eagle for the shithouse drags this event pays good money. The lake county boys didn’t fair to well this year but we had a good time , we even had a shitter tip over the rider was alright but it did have a strange odor coming from it.

March 2009
The Leesburgers headed to the Atlantic Coast, first thing is we all like to eat so we all meet up at the Mason Jar In Donavista on St Route 19 For breakfast they have very good food and very reasonable prices. So on our journey to the coast we hit Alexander Springs Road, cruising through the forest in the middle of now where, We found a stranded biker and her son broken down. Lucky we have our own mechanic BC who rides with us. So BC did his magic and got her bike started. So we followed her to Palm Coast where she lived, and then we all hit the White Eagle Lounge after a few bevareages, here comes the young lady and father who was broken down her father just wanted to come and thank us and ended up buying a round of beverages. We all exchanged number so when we head their way again we can give them a call to meet up and do some partying. So when you are out riding and you see a brother or a sister broken down on the side of the road make sure you stop and see if you can give them a hand. You never no what it might take a zip tie or just a little piece of tape to get them running again. Then it was off to Kick Stands leather and chaps party, when we arrived there was standing room only, the band Bad Manners was playing and the adult things was happin’, so if your out by Kick Stands stop buy and have a cold one this place always has something going on for the biker community. KOOL KATS SWAPMEET
November 22 Ron Henry and Myself took off for Kool Kats in Belleview for their 1st annual swap meet. We headed out at 8am with temperature hovering at 40.. So on with the leathers. Even when we got there it took about and hour to 2hrs to thaw out.

We met up with Bill Couch and Paul Scott who had a booth selling parts. So we sat with them and shot the shit . Finally the Breakfast was ready with some very needed much hot coffee. There were 20 or so booths not all Bike stuff but it made for a good swap meet. People were buying and selling and trading, I saw some people pull in for an hour sell out and then leave, Breen and Rick owners of Kool Kats said they would like to have this event more often. So when you hear about the next one pull out those old parts and things your not using and join in the fun. Then I looked over and there was Chickenman my fellow Scootergoods staffer, he came up to the meet to check on the deals and he found one was the Beers at the bar, we shot the shit and took some pictures for a bit and we where off to the Blue Heron Cove on State Route 42 to check it out. When we arrived to my surprise there were 20 or more bikes in the lot. Tim the manager came over and sat down with us and and talked about advertising in the Scootergoods Magazine. Cause he knows how the book gets around in the community, so after a few cold ones we headed to the house and when I got home Beck asked if I wanted to go out and eat and of course I said yes so back to the Blue Heron Cove we went, after we ate some good food and listened to the karoke, we headed to the County Line Bar to listen to the band. When we got there we put in our drink order the owner of Gator Bay Kevin and Lisa came in a joined us and we all sat together and had a great time, it is nice when you go out and ride and run in to fellow bikers you enjoy being around, that is what the biker family is all about. December 2008  Story 2
November 8th Ridge Runner, Dave-O and the Leesburgers had a busy day at 9am we all met at Wolfys for our morning coffee and breakfast. Then it was off, this was the first time Diane Couch has been on the scoot for about 9 weeks she had to have some foot surgery done, so she had some catching up to do, were glad she back in the saddle. So we ran down 27 to ride Sugar Loaf Mountain, it was a beaufitul ride and it was developing quickly to get even better. Our first stop was at Little Lake Harris Pub very biker friendly place on 561 in Astatula, where we stopped by and see Greg and staff, our next stop was at Big Dog Saloons grand opening, when we got there our friends from the cruisers were there in full force, we even had Greg Case president of the Cruisers playing his guitar, it surprised me cause he was pretty damn good, also Tom Lemon VP, was cooking butts on the smoker, there was about 15 of us at our table we had our own waitress Linda she never left our table only just to get us more beverages. Then it was off to Kickstands for the Lake County Bike Fest, We got there kinda early and was only a few brothers and sisters so we dicided to come back later,so after a few beers we loaded up to hit Steves Package Lounge when we got their we doubled the size of the group. At Steves I found out a friend of mine, Dad had passed away so I gave Tim and Sherry our condolencesfrom Ridgerunner and The Scootergoods Staff. By the way Tim’s son Alex just finished boot camp with the Marines way to go thanks for serving your country. After a few shots of liquor it was time to go back to Kickstands to listen to Maiden Voyage Kenny and the guys sure no how to rock. Doug the owner was pretty busy by this time and all the brothers and sisters was having one hell of a good time at Kickstands. So if your out by the Eustis fairgrounds stop by and have a cold one. Then it was off to Buddy’s Tavern for something to wash breakfast down for some of us, and some of us a liquid breakfast. We then loaded up and rode over to Paddler’s Pub in Nobleton. Nice little stop on the river for a beverage and a smoke. Mac’s Place was next in Floral City where they were having a chicken cook-off, mighty good tasting chicken. We had a few cold ones and bullshitted with Don V and some of the locals. Dale thanked us for all that rode over from Leesburg to support this event. On August 31 we had a fish fry for my Son in Law, 101st Screamin Eagle who I picked up at the airport home for mid-tour leave from Afghanistan. (Cont Pg. 53) About 50 of us Brothers and Sisters showed up and ate fish and drank some adult beverages. Jennifer took up a little collection of a couple hundred dollars donated so the young couple could have a night at the beach from all of us. Thanks Jenn! Me and Dave O smoked some butts Saturday night, after 2 days partying I didn’t feel much like deep frying so Bill H. and Bill E. cooked the fish. Thanks Guys, we know who to call on the next fish fry.So this time of year you ride, get wet, dry off, ride, get wet, dry off, then clean thescoot, get it dirty, clean the scoot, get it dirty, etc.P.S. don’t forget the rain gear, or trash bags "Ridge Runner"    As soon a Jeff is back with his unit in Afganistan The Scootergoods Magazine Staff will be sending packages to them and will be adopting them and the unit Sgt.
