Blanchard, 46, of Green Cove Springs was riding his 2005 Triumph motorcycle in the left lane of Interstate 10's off ramp to Interstate 95 in Jacksonville, following a 2010 Ford Focus. When the car slowed for traffic, the motorcycle rear ended it. The impact knocked Blanchard off his motorcycle into a right lane. Where some Asswipe Cager in a truck ran him over and killed him then fled the scene. FHP says the truck may be a red, four-door Dodge Ram pickup with a smokestack exhaust, lift kit and KC lights. If you have any information Please call the Florida Highway Patrol. |
| March 30 2010 Harley Garage Parties for women have been very successful. The events last 2 hours usually and include instruction from the Rider Edge "learn to ride program". The events are designed to be learner friendly, and one of several myths dispelled was that the "Sportster," a Harley classic with "old school" looks, is a "chick bike," because of its smaller size. Sportsters are as great for guys as for gals - and some women even find larger bikes easier to ride. In fact, any bike can be made to fit any rider -- something pointed out during the session on Custom-fitting motorcycles. |

world on a motorcycle! Leslie Porterfield, named by Guinness World Records because of a record setting motorcycle run she made in 2008. The title was previously held for more than thirty years by motocross rider and stunt woman, Marcia Holley. Holley's record of 229.361 mph was set with a single engine streamliner motorcycle in 1978. Guinness is recognizing Porterfield's time of 232.522 mph set at the 2008 BUB Speed Trials at Bonneville on a 2002 2000cc Turbo-charged Suzuki Hayabusa. READ MORE |
| March 29 2010 "When it comes to the pop culture in general, the movie Easy Rider was kind of a bible for our generation," Miyamoto told website CVG. "A writer or director like Peter Fonda, who made Easy Rider, must have had a great influence upon myself when I was young." |

| March 29 2010 San Diego The
message that appeared on electronic freeway signs in San Diego
was intended to be helpful. Instead, in some Cagers it triggered
resentment and anger. What offended the Cagers you ask? "Share
the road. Look twice for motorcyclists." About
a dozen angry callers complained that it wasn't up to them to
keep an eye out for motorcyclists. Motorcyclists
told the Earth Times newspaper that they welcomed the drive-by
message campaign because they are increasingly vulnerable on
crowded streets and freeways. Drivers are less attentive than
ever, distracted by cell phones and other electronics, as well
as more traditional distractions such as music, food,
conversation and rapid lane-changing. READ

and other License Plates and services could be restored to the
original levels. Last year the State of Florida made a decision to raise fees, & renewing a driver's license went from $20 to $48,registering a new car jumped from $100 to $225. Lawmakers also boosted the amount of money going to the state from the sale of specialty license plate from $14 to $33, meaning that with organizations collecting between $15 to $25 per plate, a specialty plate could cost nearly $60. Now along comes SB 2036 which would return fees to their regular rate and those who paid higher fees would have their money returned via a credit. Why would the state consider a change you ask ? Because State transportation officials have told lawmakers that registrations have been off about 1.5% and specialty tag sales fell 67% statewide in November through January! So the bottom line is FLORIDIANS AIN'T GONNA TAKE IT!! |

As he approached an intersection, he saw a line of cars stopped ahead. Officials say Larocca then left East Fletcher Ave and entered the BICYCLE lane along Fletcher Avenue. At the same time, a 2001 GMC Yukon driven by Michael Scott was traveling eastbound on Fletcher Avenue and had stopped to make a left turn on Avalon Height Boulevard. Scott turned left, and Larocca struck the right front corner of Scott's truck and was severely injured. |
| March 26 2010 Another Bullschitt deal for Politician: Lois Frankel mayor of West Palm Beach was going double the speed limit in a school zone, but was let off with a warning by a local MOTORCYCLE COP. In our opinion LEADFOOT LOIS should have been issued a $500.00 ticket just like any other citizen and the Cop should be sent back to traffic school. What pisses me off the most was it was a MOTORCYCLE COP that let her go, after recognizing who she was!!! Frankel claimed after the cop told her he was not giving her a ticket. She asked him to treat her like any other citizen. "Yeah Right Lois" |

Motorcycle Legislation
Things sure more slow in Tallahassee
but there is some movement. There are 2 bills in committee
that pertain to red light cameras. One, HB1235, is intended to
ban the cameras completely and HB325 has been offered to set a
state wide standard for enforcement.
Another Bill in committee that will help the
many out of work Floridians is SB2482. This bill will require
that any TAX Funded Construction Contractor give jobs to
Florida residents before ANY kind of foreign
worker. Y'all sure need to call you State Senator and
have them support this one.
The Stiffer penalties bill, HB875 has passed its 1st
hurdle by a 11-0 vote with 3 missed votes. Looks very strong.
I know it still needs more teeth but it is a good start. Once
it is on the books it can be amended to give greater power.
Call your Representative and support the bill!
There will be more motorcycle related bills to come
and I'll be letting you know where they stand.
Get involved! Contact your Representative and
Senator on any of the bills that you wish to support or
are against. They don't know if you don't tell them what you
think. "BUTCH"

2010 Harley Davidson Could be goin' Private is Bankruptcy in the
future: Rumors
suggest that Harley-Davidson could be taken into private
ownership if Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. rumored leveraged
buyout (LBO) should materialize. The rumor hard to confirm. But
the way HD stock prices have risen it sure look like a go on the
LBO. What
is a Leveraged Buyout:
In an LBO, there is usually a ratio of 90% debt to 10% equity.
Because of this high debt/equity ratio, the bonds usually are
not investment grade and are referred to as junk bonds. Leveraged
buyouts have had a notorious history, especially in the 1980s
when several prominent buyouts led to the eventual bankruptcy of
the acquired companies.
This was mainly due to the fact that the leverage ratio was
nearly 100% and the interest payments were so large that the
company's operating cash flows were unable to meet the
obligation. |

March 21 2010 What's
Up with the Motorcycle Rally at Myrtle Beach??
What-Which-Where??? One thing is for sure about one portion of
the Mess. Harley Davidson Corporate and the local H-D Dealer
have withdrawn support for the North Myrtle beach Rally. Harley
dose not feel there will be a big enough draw and feels
unwelcome due to circumstances surrounding the event. So which
is it? Take your pick from the names to the right!!

Woman Widowed in Motorcycle Accident Sues Harley Davidson FORT
WORTH, Texas, March 16 /PRNewswire/
-- A Granbury, Texas woman has
filed a lawsuit against Harley-Davidson after a crash on a
Harley-Davidson motorcycle caused by a malfunctioning electronic
throttle killed her husband. The woman was also seriously
injured. John DeBartolo purchased
a 2008 FLHX Harley-Davidson motorcycle on March
15, 2008 from Longhorn Harley-Davidson in Grand
Prairie, Texas. The next week the electronic throttle
failed to operate properly. Mr. DeBartolo called Longhorn
Harley-Davidson to notify them of the problem. The motorcycle
was delivered to the dealership for repair. It was supposedly
repaired and returned to Mr. DeBartolo on March
22, 2008. On March 24, 2008,
John and his wife, Cindy DeBartolo,
were riding the Harley-Davidson southbound on FM 4 in Acton,
Texas, when the electronic throttle malfunctioned and
caused a loss of control of the motorcycle. John
DeBartolo was killed and Cindy
DeBartolo was seriously injured. The lawsuit was filed in
Tarrant County by Cindy
DeBartolo against Harley-Davidson Motor Company, Inc.,
LHD Partners L.P. d/b/a Longhorn Harley-Davidson. The lawsuit
includes allegations that the electronic throttle on the
Harley-Davidson motorcycle was unreasonably dangerous and that
Longhorn Harley-Davidson failed to properly repair the
malfunctioning throttle. "Harley riders should be able to
rely on the safety of the design and manufacturing process and
safe practices in the repair of their motorcycles," said
attorney John David Hart of the
Law Offices of John David Hart in
Fort Worth, who
represents Mrs. DeBartolo. "A dangerous, unsafe throttle on
a brand new Harley-Davidson led to a needless death. Hopefully
this lawsuit will lead to safety changes which will prevent
another tragedy."
