May 27 2009      Good Morning Don,
The Thunder Run was a success!  We had 42 bikes register on the run, in the rain.  We had over a hundred at the last stop for the feed, music and raffles. All together, we raised $4680 for our Troops.  Thanks for coming down.  Sorry we didn't' get to spend allot of time together.  Hope your doing well. And thank you for your support and free advertisement.        Jaebird

Miss Behavin' goes to the Rodeo

Hope that everyone had a great time at the Party in the Pasture.  The weather was perfect except for the blistering heat.  But no matter what the weather held for us, we all got to help out our veterans. That's what the party is all about.  I'd like to take this space up to thank the fine brothers & sisters that helped to make our booth a great success.  For all of you who came to The Dyfunction Junction booth to get a drink or dunk a chick in the dunk tank...Thank You for supporting our vets!  There's alot of work that goes into our booth, literally months in advance.  We volunteer our time & services for our veterans, so that you all can have a great time.  I want to personally thank the DD214 Foundation for all they do, and Rick, Scotti, Dennis, Lenny,  Brian @ Phat Cat Carts, LA, Jiggles, LH, Sleepy Joe, Dale, Don V, American Legion Auxiliary Unit 275, Sons of the American Legion Squadron 275, American Legion Riders Post 275, Amvets Post 98, Dave of Post 238, Superior Heating & Cooling, Dawn M., Mark Joy and Pat Sherman Wholesale and all the ladies that donated their time in the dunk tank.  With their contributions & help, we were able to Donate $1601 for our disabled veterans.  We'll be cooking up some more goodies for the next Rodeo, so be sure to stop by the Dysfunction Junction Booth,  the booth with the biggest hearts for the vets.  Until next month, ride safe, have fun and keep the shiny side up.  By the way, Welcome home Dugout!

APRIL 2009
MISS BEHAVIN’ The weather is warming and the snow birds are starting to filter back to their northern territories. The roads will be a bit lighter with cagers cutting us off, but keep your eyes on the ones left on our roads. Hope all that went to Bike Week had a safe return with no tickets in their wallets. There are alot of great events coming in the months ahead, The 5th Party in the Pasture is on and expected to be bigger and better. So be sure to have your ass there to party down while supporting our disabled veterans. As always, keep the pasture clean and don’t litter with glass & trash. This is a working cattle pasture and we don’t want to see them lovely bovines butts bleeding. Look for the Dysfunkshun Junction Booth by the stage and come see LA, Ginger and Jaebird. Last year they were able to donate $1000 for the disabled vets with your help. April 19 is the Suncoast Brotherhood Chili Cook Off. Lots of games and chili to try out. April 24-26 is Leesburg which has been good to all riders for the past decade, starting to look alike Daytona. May 23 is the American Legion Riders Thunder Run in Pinellas County. Watch the Scootergoods website for more info. All proceeds from the Thunder Run will go directly to our troops deployed overseas for their with list items and postage. With all the great riding weather and great places to go, I’ll be seeing you out on the open road. Ride Free. Miss Behavin

Boris wanted to let everyone know how much he appreciates all the food that everyone has donated.  Here's a couple of pictures to let you see the magnitude of the food that was donated to Boris' upkeep. I would also like to say thank you to all of you for being such wonderful people and for helping me to help a veteran and his beloved pet.  You all make me proud to be a member of this wonderful organization.  Thank you all so much for helping Boris. God Bless. Respectfully, Jaebird

December 2008
It has been one busy season. The Legion Riders met with about 250 other bikes on Oct 29 to escort the Moving Wall Tribute to Clearwater. The ride was chilly but well organized by the Vietnam Nam MC and Nam Knights MC. If you ever get the chance to see this magnificent display, please do. This is such a wonderful tribute to those who gave their lives during the Vietnam conflict. Well, I’m sure that everyone who attended the Biker Rodeo had one hell of a time. This party just keeps getting better and better and all for a great cause, our Disabled Veterans. I’d like to take this time to thank several organizations and people that helped to make this event a great success, Michelle at the Monkey Bar in Clearwater, S.A.L Squadron 7 in Clearwater, S.A.L. Squadron 275 in Dunedin, Fl, American Legion Auxiliary 275 in Dunedin, Fl. American Legion Post 238 in Safety Harbor, Phat Cat Carts in Largo, Fl. Mark Turner, Dawn Meader, Mark Joy, Animal & Deb, Bernie & Leggs of Michigan, Sid & Sharon Damsgard, L.A & Ginger and Scotty. Without their contributions, we couldn’t have done it any better. Thank you all for supporting our Disabled Veterans through the DD-214 Foundation, Inc.!!!!! A great big thanks goes out to J.O. & Jane, DonV. & Chickenman The holiday season is upon us and the snow birds are filtering in. Keep your guard up, as the roads will be plagued with cagers cutting us off. On Dec 21 the Suncoast Brotherhood will be hosting their annual Toy Run in Pinellas County. Check the Scootergoods website for more info. Here’s wishing you all a wonderful Christmas and New Year!!! Keep our Troops in your prayers fortheir safetyand safereturn home. May Flathead|the great scooter god keep your motors running smoothly.

 October 2008
Well we started off the month at the American Legion Post 275 where a benefit for Neil Blake took place. Neil is the owner of Manor Cycles who suffered a brain aneurysm and is making great progress. Like the old saying, ya can’t keep a good man down. As for many years past, he was always there for a fellow bikers and for his community, and it was just those who came out to support him in his recovery. There were over 600 bikes choking the parking lots and loads of raffles. The 50/50 winner, in true biker form, donated his winnings back to Niel. Ata Biker, Way to go! As we keep trying to out run the storms and rain, we were still able to do more good for our vets. Sharon from the ALA came across a flyer about a soldier being deployed to Iraq. He was needing to place his American Mastiff in a home. Well, 3 days later, we welcomed Boris into our home. He’s a gentle giant of 185 lbs of slobbering love. Boris has acclimated well with our other mastiff Jada and the sound of bikes reving up and down the road. All in all, it’s a win-win situation for all involved. Our American Soldier can go do his duty without any worries about Boris. Unfortunately, there are many more military animals that need our help. So if you can, become a foster family for a military pet. In 2003, the Dept of Defense, declared pets of military personnel, part of military family. So, help a vet & a pet. You can contact me about becoming a foster family or for placing your military pet into a foster home @ 727-359-6112 or at militarypet@yahoo.com On Sept 14 we rode up to Lopez VA Nursing Home and put on a cookout for our veterans. There will be a Poker Run on Nov. 9 for the Lopez VA Nursing Home to buy Christmas presents for our vets. Check the Scootergoods website for more info and come out to show support for our Vets. The countdown is on for Gunslingers Birthday Day Party on Oct 31-Nov 2. So be sure not to miss this party! As always, the party is about supporting our Vets! God bless America and God Speed our troops home. If you can’t get behind our troops, then by all means, feel free to stand in front of them.     Jaebird ALR

September 2008
Jaebird Goes Zippin’

Well the month started off with a little trip up to the Hocking Hills of Ohio. There are some great riding areas with caves to explore and rivers to fish. I found myself being a bit adventurous and took up a sport called Zip Line. There above the trees are steel cables stretched out 600 yds. There are cables all through the forest and rope bridges to cross. Ya get harnessed and clipped onto the cable, then zip down the cable at 30 mph as your feet kiss the top of the trees. What a way to spend 3 hours. So if you get the chance to Zip Line, do it. It’s a fun time off the bike. The Scootergoods staff took time on Aug 7 to attend the Purple Heart Monument Dedication. America’s first Purple Heart City is Dunedin, Fl. Check out the Scootergoods website for more info on the event and how you can help to recognize a Purple Heart recipient. The Rodeo is fast approaching and it looks like it’s going to be Bigger & Better than ever. It’s one hell of party but the best part is how much this party benefits our veterans. So be sure to attend the 4th Brooksville Old Skool Biker Rodeo. You’ll be helping our vets while having a good time. Keep supporting our troops and vets. Summer is hot and miserable but there are some cool places to check out. There is a new shop in Dunedin on Main St. called Motown Leather. This store has all the leather accessories that you need, from saddlebags to vests & chaps. Stop by and let these folks get ya fitted with all your leather needs.I’ll be seeing ya on the open road, until then
Ride till ya Rot, Jaebird

JULY 2008
On the Road with Miss Behavin & Tree

The Scootergoods staff packed the saddlebags, loaded up the tour pak and headed north. We left Florida and headed to Beaverlick, Ky to party with the Northern Kentucky Harley Riders, aka The Beaverlickers. We stopped in Chattanooga, to visit an old Civil War Cemetery and to stretch our legs, then headed on to Ky. Once mobilized at the Beaverlick Lodge, we were rested and fed by Derf & Cari with all the southern hospitality that Beaver Lickers and Barn Floozies always display. It was a wonderful ride and the club party lasted well into the wee morning hours. There was the T-back "Crackter" pull with 2 remaining contestants. As I pulled 8 cases of bottled beer, my thong broke about 2 feet from the finish line. Then Queenie hooked up and had to pull 8 cases to up her 7 cases; she pulled within 2 feet of the finish line and Whoop, her thong broke. We ended up splitting the prize of $160 which was a big help on the gas funds. As usual with the pull, the outcome (Beaverlickers Cont from 15) is the same, cut and bruised crotches, but not a bad pay day. Looking forward to the Rodeo this Halloween so that the 10 case pull can be attempted. Once camp was tore down, we headed northeast. We took all 2 lane roads through the rolling hills, and made our way to Hocking Hills, Ohio. There are many caves in the Hocking Hills and we spent 2 days there roaming around. The Boozefighters were most hospitable and took us on a bar hop excursion. Sorry Chickenman that we weren’t able to hook up with ya. But there were many more miles ahead of us and 10 days goes by fast. Without a real destination, we laid a map out on the ground and flipped a quarter to see where our journey was heading. Under the quarter was Summersville Lake, West Virginia. So off we go on the back country roads to WV. Had to keep an eye on the gas tanks, as there weren’t too many places with civilization or beer stops. We finally made it there and met some good old country folks who were more than happy to fill our ears with tales of days gone by. We were able to visit more caves and civil war battlefields with the beautiful mountains as our back drop. We happened upon a road that made the Deals Dragon Tail look like a straight away, 70 minutes to do 20 miles, with no guard rails and 800 ft drops. Then it was off to the Blue Ridge Parkway. This was a gorgeous ride with long curvy roads and alot of wildlife to see. Time was getting short and we still had alot of zig zagging to do to get back home. This was a trip of a lifetime, to just zig zag across the Appalachian Mountains and eastern seaboard. We took several issues of the Scootergoods Rag with us, which in turn is like currency up in the hills. So if your heading to the mountains, don’t forget your long sleeve shirt, cause the nights get down in the 50’s. Although it was nice to get back home and have all the amenities, I just can’t get those views or miles off my mind. There was 3913 miles logged on the scoot and I don’t believe that the chopper guys would have survived it. At least not without a prosthetic ass. Jaebird
