WORDS FROM JERSY GIRL We all know that bikers are our most generous people around when it comes to raising funds for any event needed, along with donating their time for a cause. Now i would like to speak of a girl who does something for the bikers and also donates her time. Her name is Jenny Rimmer and if you have ever been to Sleepy Hollow then you know who i am speaking about. Whenever we have free time ourselves, you can bet you will see the Apple Dumpling gang, (Scootergood peeps) stop by, drink a beer, grab a bite to eat and listen to Jenny belt out the tunes. Lately, I myself have noticed that after her time is up when doing her gig, she has been telling the audience that she will stay as long as the audience wants. She also takes request and when someone mentions a song that has already been sung, she always replies as long as the audience doesnt mind then neither so I. Also one more mention about Jenny & her husband, her biggest supporter, they came by the Brooksville " Party in the pasture" for a leisurely day and next thing I knew there she was standing under the large wonderful American flag singing the National Anthem. So hats off to you Jenny, we appreciate and admire all that you do for us biker folks.Be sure to check out her website www.jennyrimmer.com for booking & other information.
Until we meet again "peace" Sweet JerseyGirl

Well a bunch of us scooterheads got together to run down to Deadwood saturday morning. After hitting the Crossroads in Brooksville for some breakfast we all rode down to check it out.It was a pretty big layout on the water with a new stage for the bands to play on. I got to hear Jimmy Sparks and Greg Billing who were both great. But we spent more time I think at Calendar Girls than the actual event. Mainly because of the same things that I heard most people complain about. You cant do much about the heat, but the main complaints I heard was the $4.00 bud draft beer prices, they thought the food was included in the admission price of $15.00 like the last event, and that the event seemed to be too commercialized to name a few. Other comments about Deadwood Stampede can be found on the www.scootergoods.com website. CG was great because they had a variety of drinks at a much more reasonable price, it was nice and cold from the ac and a Scootergoods favorite, Titties & Beer! On the way out we passed a group coming in and heard one guy say "That’s not a good sign!". ( Cont. from Pg. 25)The main thing I dont get as of yet was the event’s cause:THIS EVENT IS BEING HELD TO RECOGNIZE AND REMEMBER THOSE MEN AND WOMEN WHO HAVE SERVED IN OUR ARMED FORCES, THOSE THAT ARE CURRENTLY DEPLOYED AND THOSE WHO HAVE GIVEN THE ULTIMATE SACRAFICE SO WE HERE AT HOME CAN HAVE A STAMPEDE! I’m down with that, I met one couple who met in the service there and were married and the husband was going back to Iraq for his 13th tour. God bless you man, I’m sorry I didnt get a chance to talk with you more. But what I didn’t get was the first event helped fund raise for the Dawn center for battered women and I’m pretty sure this was a for profit event.girls were fine, but I dont think alot of people cared about a waterski show or buying a boat at a biker event. I know they hooked up Lea’s Prayers & postage with a free spot to auction off a TV(donated by Walmart) which was cool, but as of yet I haven’t heard of anything else.Nothing wrong with making money but from the complaints I have read maybe they need to change a few things. I know ALOT of work goes into putting together this type of event but if they want to charge that kind of admission and charge vendors the amounts they did (see www.deadwoodgem.com vendor application) they need to rethink what they are doing and add some more things to do during the day. The bike show had some nice rides and the deadwood gem Ok Im off my soapbox, Im not here to bash an event, just relate the comments I heard. We had a good time and a fun ride out regardless because as long as we are out in the wind, with our friends, who gives a shit about anything else!
